Basic Stir Fry

  • loads of veg (chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 inch ginger (peeled and chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese 5 spice
  • legumes (firm tofu, frozen soya beans and / or frozen peas)
  • 1/2 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • cooked noodles or rice
  • nuts (chopped)


  1. In a non stick wok or large pan add your ginger, garlic and veg. Keep everything moving constantly and as it starts to stick add a little water.

  2. Continue to cook in this way, adding water as the pan dries out, until all the veg is cooked to your liking.

  3. Add Chinese 5 spice, soy sauce and coconut aminos plus the drained tofu, frozen soya beans and / or frozen peas. Cook for a couple of minutes to heat the legumes.

  4. Stir through cooked noodles or rice and top with chopped nuts. Serve immediately.
