This drink is so quick to make: just pour boiling water onto some cocoa powder and dollop in some blackstrap molasses. It satisfies both a sugar and chocolate craving and packs in some nutrients to boot thanks to the blackstrap molasses. No refined sugar plus it’s low calorie compared to your bog standard cocoa! It may take a bit of getting used to if you usually drink milky cocoa, but you’ll probably end up preferring it.

This healthy version of cocoa takes no longer to make than a cup of tea!
- 1-2 tsp cocoa powder (depending on cup size)
- 1-2 tsp blackstrap molasses (depending on cup size)
If using a big mug I use 2 tsp cocoa powder and a heaped tsp blackstrap molasses. If using a smaller cup or mug I use 1 level tsp of each.
Dissolve cocoa and blackstrap molasses in boiling water. Enjoy!
